The Tacker Welder II performs intermediate‑level layout, fit‑up, and tack welding to prepare metal components for final welding and assembly. This role interprets blueprints, aligns and positions parts, and applies knowledge of weld shrinkage, heat effects, and fabrication techniques to ensure precision and quality. The Tacker Welder 2 contributes to efficient production by following workmanship standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications while supporting continuous operational workflow. Duties and Responsibilities Perform layout, orientation, and alignment of parts according to prints and specifications. Fit tubing, micro‑fits, flanges, and assemblies in preparation for welding. Plan sequence of operations using knowledge of geometry, heat effects, weld shrinkage, and material thickness. Apply basic welding symbols, welding gases, straightening, tweaking, and heat‑shrinkage techniques. Ensure all work meets company workmanship standards, quality policy, and customer requirements. Participate in cleanroom and manufacturing environment protocols as required. Maintain consistent attendance as an essential job function. Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs. Knowledge, Skills, Experience Minimum Qualifications Ability to read and interpret blueprints and build assemblies according to print requirements. Knowledge of basic welding symbols, welding gases, straightening/tweaking methods, and heat‑shrinkage principles. Ability to work overtime based on operational needs. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established quality and workmanship standards. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in semiconductor‑related fabrication. Experience working in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments. Familiarity with precision fit‑up and small‑part fabrication. Education, Certifications, Requirements Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent (preferred). Preferred Qualifications Welding certification is beneficial but not required. Work Environment Manufacturing and cleanroom environments with required PPE. Exposure to moderate noise levels from equipment and tools. Work may be subject to interruptions and requires adaptability. Physical Demands Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions. Near‑vision acuity of at least 20/40 (with or without correction). Ability to distinguish colors accurately. Ability to perform close visual inspection of small parts, defects, and blueprints. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit for extended periods, with intermittent standing and bending. Ability to work in environments requiring personal protective equipment.
