Reports to work on time with appropriate attire, (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves). Operates equipment safely and uses safe work habits while performing job function Maintains a clean work area Accurately records time and materials used on the work order/job traveler and in operating software When necessary, accurately records time spent on maintenance or waiting on material in operating software Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions Clamps, holds, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas metal arc, and flux-cored arc, plasma arc, aluminum welding, and stick welding. Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. Will lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembling to ensure the finished assembly will match the drawing and meet customer's specifications Create temporary custom jigs as needed throughout the assembly process to ensure quality of parts as they are assembled. Uses calibrated measuring tools to verify assemblies are made to the drawing and within tolerances to ensure conformance with customer's specifications Operates hand and power tools as needed Performs maintenance when required Other duties as required
