Job Description
Ecopool pioneered and patented factory-built modular steel swimming pools and now manufactures in Salado, Texas. Every pool features a German-engineered reinforced PVC membrane — the same material system used on the high-end pools in Europe. We're bringing that build method to the American market, and we need people who can lay down a perfect weld. We are hiring hot air welders to fabricate and detail these membranes on our shop floor. If you have welded PVC or TPO, this is work you already understand — done sitting or kneeling on a clean, level, indoor facility instead of on a 140° roof deck in August. You'll recognize this work if you've done any of the following: Commercial single-ply roofing — PVC or TPO hot air welding, detail work, corners, penetrations, pipe boots (Sarnafil, Duro-Last, FiberTite, Carlisle, JM, Versico) Geomembrane or pond/pit liner fabrication or installation — PVC, RPE, XR-5, LLDPE, hot wedge or hot air Industrial fabric fabrication — awnings, tents, truck tarps, boat covers, inflatables, banners, hay tarps, pool covers Commercial flooring — heat-welded sheet vinyl seams with welding rod What you'll do Hand-weld and machine-weld reinforced PVC membrane up to 72 mil using Leister-type hot air tools and automatic welders Fabricate corners, steps, benches, returns, main drains, light niches, and skimmer details Set weld parameters — temperature, speed, and pressure — and adjust them for material, thickness, and shop conditions Probe every seam, cut and peel test coupons, and document results Read layout drawings, cut and position panels, and keep material clean and protected Own the quality of what leaves your station What we're looking for 2+ years of hands-on thermoplastic welding — PVC, TPO, or similar (single-ply roofing, geomembrane, or industrial fabric all count) You can hold a consistent, straight, void-free seam Comfortable kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs through a full shift Reliable transportation to Salado and a clean, steady work record Reads a tape and a shop drawing Nice to have, not required IAGI Certified Welding Technician (PVC or Reinforced) DVS speed-welding certification Manufacturer training from Sika Sarnafil, Duro-Last, FiberTite, Carlisle, or a geosynthetics fabricator Bilingual English/Spanish No membrane experience? Read this. We will train the right person. If you have the hands for it — upholstery, auto glass, vinyl wrap, sign work, canvas, tailoring, metal fabrication, or any trade where a millimeter matters — apply anyway and tell us what you've built. We run a paid training track with a defined pay ladder. Pay and benefits Sign-on bonus — half at 90 days, half at 180 days Relocation assistance available for candidates outside Central Texas Paid, certified training — including manufacturer training systems Health Insurance PTO and holiday schedule Overtime available Work inside a shot with fans and out of the hot sun
