Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) techniques to assemble and repair metal components. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, measuring instruments, and fabrication processes will ensure precision and safety on every project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction and manufacturing projects, utilizing your welding skills to produce durable, reliable metal structures. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures. Set up welding equipment, including MIG welders, ensuring proper calibration and safety compliance before starting work. Perform MIG welding on various metal materials such as sheet metal, pipe, ductwork, and structural components following AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math to verify dimensions and ensure precise fabrication. Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding or assembly. Adhere strictly to safety protocols while working on construction sites or in fabrication shops to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Assist with fabrication tasks such as pipe threading, soldering, plasma cutting, and assembly of metal structures or components as needed. Requirements Proven experience in construction site environments with a strong understanding of safety procedures. Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and Stick welding. Familiarity with blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math for accurate fabrication. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools confidently. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, pipe threading, and mechanical fabrication processes. Experience with welding on different metal types including steel and aluminum using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) is preferred. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, plasma cutters, and machining tools efficiently. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for precise assembly or repair work.
