Basic Job Functions:
Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawings or prints. Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds. Operating overhead flip-rite cranes, transfers, and magnetic drills. Full visual inspection of parts ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied. Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream customers to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues/concerns. Obtain and maintain the GMAW 2G welding certification. Properly perform and pass NDT welds and inspections as required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future). Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
WQ1 (2G) weld certifications. High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Can read and understand weld symbols. Can use an arc gouger. Previous crane certification. Previous experience in material handling. Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
