$18.00 About the Role We're seeking an experienced, certified welder to join a growing client team in Tyler. This role calls for a skilled tradesperson who can read blueprints, work across multiple welding processes and metal types, and maintain high standards of precision and safety on the shop floor. Responsibilities Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions Detect faulty equipment operation or defective materials and notify supervisors Set up and operate hand and power tools common to welding, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux based on welding chart specifications and metal type/thickness Mark or tag materials with job numbers, piece marks, and other identifying information Determine equipment and welding methods using knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques Prepare material surfaces by removing scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter Align and clamp workpieces using rules, squares, hand tools, fixtures, jigs, or vises Connect and adjust regulator valves to control gas flow and flame Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines Solder joints using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion Grind, cut, buff, or bend edges for a snug fit using grinders and hand tools Weld aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys, separately or in combination Chip or grind excess weld, slag, or spatter using scrapers, grinders, or arc-cutting equipment Develop templates and models from blueprint calculations Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts Clean and degrease parts using wire brushes, grinders, or chemical baths Hammer out bulges or bends in metal workpieces Check grooves, angles, and gap allowances using micrometers, calipers, and precision instruments Fill holes, indentations, or seams using soldering equipment Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs to complete electrical circuits Guide and direct flames or electrodes to straighten, bend, melt, or build up metal Apply fire suppression methods in industrial emergencies Preheat workpieces prior to welding or bending Operate metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines such as brakes and shears Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and safety data sheets to plan layout and operations Qualifications Certified welder with proven experience across multiple welding processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM #T2023 Apply now "
