We take pride in delivering high-quality fabricated steel on time while upholding the highest ethical standards. Job Description As a Fitter/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating a wide range of miscellaneous metal projects. This includes cutting and welding metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment.

Minimum Starting Salary:

$22.00

•$30.00 per hour

•depending on experience (Full-time Alamo employees are eligible for shift differential pay)

Shifts Available:
Day Shift:

Monday

•Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm

Nights:

Monday

•Thursday 3:00pm to 1:30am

•Plus a $2.00 shift differential Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded. Maintain, organize, and keep work area and equipment in operating condition. Hand-weld and/or flame-cut equipment to join metal components. Cut and scarf using an oxy-acetylene torch. Structural welding using

FCAW & SMAW.

Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. Properly assemble and disassemble weld setups. Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches. Reshape metal workpieces to establish specifications. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of metal and basic shop fabrication equipment. Knowledge and proficiency in MIG welding with the ability to pass a welding test. Knowledge of TIG welding is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to withstand pressure and adapt to change. Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Experience in a structural welding environment is preferred Ability to pass a Fillet Weld Test.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
