Structural Welder (Pulse Arc)

Location:

Newport News, VA Wages:

• $45.00/Hr
• $120.

00/day Per Diem, if eligible

Shift:

• Must be able to work any shift

Skills:

• Multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P. Oxygen/Propane heating torch.
• Experience in physically demanding environments (shipboard, sub-assemblies, etc.).
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations for the shipbuilding industry.
• Air carbon arc gouging and use of weld gauges.

Requirements :

• Minimum 4 Yrs. shipyard trade experience
• Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
• Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements
• Must be able to pass background check and hair follicle drug screen
• All-position, multi-pass butt weld tests in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GMAW-P. Air Carbon Arc Gouging proficiency. All welders must pass qualification tests before beginning work. Tests include visual inspection, welders vision test, and proficiency exams.
