The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG welding and blueprint reading, with a strong commitment to quality and safety. As a Full-time Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to specifications and blueprints in a factory environment. Hours for this position are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (36 hours, but you will be paid for 40).
Pay range:
$26 to 32/hr. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on various metals and alloys, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to understand project requirements Set up welding equipment, including power sources, wire feeders, and shielding gas systems Select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and materials based on job specifications Fabricate metal components and structures according to blueprints and engineering specifications Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements Perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing metal structures Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators, engineers, and quality control personnel Troubleshoot welding equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to supervisors Participate in ongoing training and skill development to stay current with industry advancements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience as a professional welder Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret technical drawings Knowledge of various metals and their properties Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME) Experience with other welding processes (TIG, Stick) is a plus Valid welding certification(s) preferred Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
