Full-Time, Welder -Busch Gardens Williamsburg What you get to do: Perform arc and gas welding, metal cutting, and metal repair throughout the park including repair on rollercoasters. Comply with hot permit policy Assist with the layout and repair of metal equipment necessary for park operation Responsible for welding safety at all times Dependable performance in terms of attendance, performance, and acceptance of assignments. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required What it takes to succeed: Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Comfortable working in a man lift Trade school or equivalent military welding experience Minimum five years of experience working with torches, flame welding, inert gas welding, electric arc welding "4G" 3/8 plate and "6G" pipe certification required Have a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a company driver's license Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic mathematical skills Be comfortable working at heights up to 385ft Able to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance Able to climb and work off of ladders Able to train on and properly use protective gear Comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations Comfortable handling chemicals with training (grease, oil, etc.) Comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor Able to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes Able to work indoors/outdoors with or without A/C for entire shift Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts What else is important: Comfortable working in a man lift General knowledge of gases and their safe application. Ability to read blueprints, drawings and weld symbols Assist and help other areas of production as needed.
