Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team in Kent, WA, a city known for its vibrant community and proximity to Seattle. This role involves applying basic welding processes to join sheet metal aircraft components according to written instructions, weld schedules, and drawings. The successful candidate will inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and work collaboratively as a team member. Responsibilities Complete routine and some advanced welding tasks while applying standard practices. Properly prepare weld surfaces. Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, weld schedules, drawings, and documents. Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures. Fit assemblies and repair some parts independently. Regularly evaluate product quality for continuous improvement. Work under limited oversight and may train others based on prior job experience. Successfully complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program or have equivalent experience. Hold multiple, basic Exotic Metals weld qualifications/certifications, including Fillet Welding as required. Meet or exceed operational standards for efficiency. Read and understand router operations, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary. Possess basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and seek guidance when necessary. Move easily between various work areas with experience. Utilize mathematics relevant to welding functions. Be familiar with machine tools, precision instruments, and demonstrate good manual dexterity. Recognize when to stop and seek appropriate interpretation when necessary. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Welding Technology degree required. Working Conditions Use of protective clothing, goggles, helmets with protective lenses, and other equipment is necessary to prevent burns and eye injuries. Physical Requirements The role requires physical activities that involve considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, and handling materials.
