Mukilteo, WA Job Description This role focuses on welding aluminum shapes to vacuum-tight standards for highly precise, mission-critical components used in advanced technology applications. You will work in an extremely clean, production-oriented environment, using your welding expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to quality to produce parts that meet stringent specifications and performance requirements. Responsibilities Select, install, and adjust welding tips and shielding components to achieve optimal weld quality. Install and replace gas tanks, and set up filler wire according to the required weld type and assembly specifications. Secure parts and assemblies using clamps and custom fixturing to ensure accurate alignment and stability during welding. Use schematics, blueprints, and both verbal and written instructions to weld and rework parts in accordance with design requirements. Review finished parts for conformance to design using measuring instruments such as calipers and rulers. Perform welding operations on aluminum shapes to meet vacuum-tight standards where required. Identify, resolve, and/or report welding issues in accordance with established company procedures. Complete and submit Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as needed to document quality issues and corrective actions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with company standards. Comply strictly with all quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations. Follow the instructions of quality and environmental management representatives and occupational safety specialists. Contribute to team efforts by assisting with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support production goals. Essential Skills Previous experience with aluminum welding, including aluminum extrusion production and fabrication work. Minimum of 1+ years of welding experience, which may include work experience, school training, or an apprenticeship setting. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to weld to high standards of quality and workmanship, with strong attention to detail. Skill in using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and rulers. Ability to use a wide variety of small hand tools safely and effectively. Strong work ethic and reliability in a production environment. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform standing and sitting tasks for extended periods. Commitment to following quality, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience welding to vacuum-tight standards is a strong plus. Experience working in a clean, non-fabrication shop environment. Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints. Comfort working with custom fixturing and clamps for precise alignment. Experience documenting non-conformances and participating in continuous improvement efforts. No formal medical testing or welding certifications are required for this role. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in an extremely clean production environment rather than a traditional fabrication shop. The typical schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime shift. You will frequently stand and sit while performing welding tasks, use a variety of small hand tools and precision measuring instruments, and handle materials weighing up to 40 lbs. The workplace follows strict quality, safety, and environmental standards, and you will wear appropriate protective clothing, including leathers and related safety gear, while performing welding operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mukilteo, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $41.00/hr.
