Entry Level Welder - 2nd
Shift Shift:
Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM Looking to grow your welding skills? Join a union shop where you'll gain hands-on experience in welding and fabrication while working alongside experienced professionals. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic welding experience or training who wants to build a long-term career in the trade. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication work on steel components Read blueprints, work orders, and tape measurements Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently Position, fit, and assemble parts before welding Weld and fabricate steel, stainless steel, aluminum, sheet metal, and other materials Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet quality standards Assist with structural assembly and production work Follow production schedules and quality expectations Maintain a clean and safe work area Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements Qualifications Basic welding experience or welding school/training MIG welding experience preferred Ability to read a tape measure accurately Basic blueprint reading skills Comfortable using grinders and shop tools Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required Experience with TIG, Stick, Flux Core, aluminum, or structural welding is a plus Why Work Here? The environment can be hot, dusty, and fast-paced. Employees work with welding equipment, grinders, steel materials, and standard fabrication tools while following all safety requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
