This role requires a strong understanding of structural fabrication processes and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. What You'll Be Doing Structural Steel Fabrication Read, interpret, and lay out raw steel materials from structural blueprints and AWS welding symbols Measure, mark, and fabricate structural steel components to specification Position, align, square, and fit heavy carbon steel plates, beams, and assemblies Utilize torches, grinders, fixtures, and fabrication tools to prepare materials Welding Perform high-quality FCAW (Dual-Shield Flux-Core) welding Execute MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steel Produce defect-free welds that meet structural specifications and quality standards Maintain welding quality while working efficiently and safely Miscellaneous Metals Fabrication Fabricate custom industrial stairs, stringers, handrails, guardrails, and specialty metal components Ensure clean fit-up and cosmetically smooth weld finishes Produce finished products that meet customer and engineering specifications Material Handling & Equipment Operation Safely operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and material handling systems Interface with automated fabrication equipment Assist with CNC drill line, robotic plasma, and other automated machinery when required Quality & Safety Verify finished products meet tight structural tolerances Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all shop safety and quality procedures
Required Qualifications Must Have:
✔ 5+ years of structural steel fabrication experience in a shop environment ✔ Extensive experience fabricating: Structural Steel Stairs Handrails Guardrails Miscellaneous Metals ✔ Deep proficiency with: FCAW (Dual-Shield Flux-Core Welding) MIG Welding (GMAW) ✔ Ability to independently read and execute complex blueprint drawings ✔ Strong understanding of AWS welding symbols and fabrication layouts ✔ Ability to pass an in-person: Layout Test Fitting Test Welding Test Preferred Qualifications ⭐

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
