Job Title:
Welder Job Description This welder role focuses on welding a wide variety of steel products in a fabrication shop environment. You will perform flux core and MIG welding using solid wire on flat and vertical surfaces, applying your foundational welding skills to support the production of fabricated steel components. No layout work is required, allowing you to concentrate on consistent, high-quality welds. Responsibilities Perform flux core and MIG welding on a variety of steel products using solid wire. Execute flat and vertical welds in accordance with shop standards and safety guidelines. Follow fabrication instructions to complete welding tasks accurately and efficiently. Inspect welds visually to ensure quality and structural integrity of steel components. Handle and position steel materials and parts safely for welding operations. Operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools in an industrial shop setting. Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety procedures and protocols. Collaborate with shop team members to meet production goals and deadlines. Report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly to ensure smooth operations. Essential Skills At least 6 months of welding experience. At least 6 months of flux core welding experience. At least 6 months of MIG welding experience. Ability to perform flat and vertical welds on steel products. Basic welding and fabrication skills with a focus on steel materials. Ability to work safely with welding equipment in an industrial environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windber, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
