Structural Fitter Welder (Heavy Plate)Wage:
Up to $29/hour (based on experience)Shift:
1stHours:
6:00 AM to 3:30 PM We are seeking an experienced Structural Fitter Welder to join a growing team specializing in heavy plate fabrication in Cudahy, WI. This role involves fitting and welding structural components using blueprints and specifications, with a focus on precision and quality. Structural Fitter Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Fit and weld heavy plate material up to 1 inch thick
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
- Perform MIG welding using .032
- 045 wire
- Measure, cut, and align materials to ensure proper fit-up
- Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and measuring tools
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Structural Fitter Welder Requirements:
- Previous experience as a structural fitter/welder in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience working with heavy plate (up to 1")
- Proficiency in MIG welding (.032
- 045 wire)
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Welding certifications are a plus
