This role focuses on fabricating and welding pressure vessels with precision and adherence to strict safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and various welding techniques, including
TIG, MIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). This is a direct-hire opportunity on a first shift schedule, working four 10-hour days per week. Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on pressure vessels and related metal components, ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and project specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings accurately to guide welding and assembly processes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to verify dimensions and ensure precise fabrication. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and hand tools safely to prepare materials for welding or assembly. Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments and visual checks to verify weld integrity and adherence to safety protocols. Follow safety procedures rigorously while handling metal materials, gas cylinders, power tools, and welding equipment in the shop environment. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal fabrication, mechanical fabrication, and metal materials handling. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with emphasis on pressure vessel manufacturing or similar heavy-duty applications. Demonstrated proficiency in TIG welding with a strong understanding of AWS standards for pressure vessels or structural steel. Skilled in multiple welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, shop math, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools required for quality control. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and plasma cutting processes. Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to strict safety protocols at all times.
