Job Description

Welder / Metal Fabricator Kaukauna, WI | $25-$32/hr | Full-Time | 1st Shift (Monday-Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM) + Optional Friday Overtime About the Role We are seeking a skilled Welder / Metal Fabricator to join a manufacturing team focused on high-quality metal fabrication and welding work. This role is responsible for performing MIG welding on a variety of construction metals while supporting fabrication, assembly, and finishing work in a fast-paced shop environment. You will work with blueprints, layouts, and work orders to produce accurate, high-quality welds while maintaining productivity and attention to detail. The position requires strong technical skills, safe work practices, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teammates. This is a first-shift role working four 10-hour days Monday through Thursday. Optional overtime is available on Fridays, with occasional additional overtime opportunities when production demand increases. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on various gauges of construction metals including aluminum and stainless steel Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and work orders to complete fabrication tasks accurately Use hand tools, air tools, grinders, and overhead cranes to support fabrication and welding operations Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and squares Maintain quality standards while meeting production goals and efficiency expectations Assist with grinding, finishing, and basic assembly as needed Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Communicate with team members to ensure work orders and production tasks are completed accurately Identify issues during fabrication and help implement solutions to maintain workflow Support additional shop duties as needed based on production demands Required Qualifications Welding program diploma, job-related coursework, or equivalent welding experience MIG welding experience Ability to read and follow blueprints and work instructions Experience using hand tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Ability to accurately measure using tape measures, calipers, and squares Basic math and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs with assistance when needed Reliable attendance and ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening Preferred Qualifications Experience with Pulse welding Experience with grinding, insulating, painting, or assembly work Knowledge of sheet metal design, airflow systems, oxidizers, or heat recovery equipment Previous experience in a heavy steel fabrication or manufacturing environment
