Top Level Pipe Welders Location:
Green Bay, WI NSC Staffing is seeking highly skilled Journeyman Specialty Welders for an exciting shipyard opportunity in Green Bay, WI. This role is ideal for experienced welders with a strong background in marine vessel repair and modernization, including work on U.S. Naval, Military Sealift Command, and commercial vessels.
Pay & Per Diem:
$34.00
  • 36.
00/hr (based on experience) $150/day Per Diem for qualified travelers (non-local) $500
Sign-On Bonus Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Welder, you will perform pipe welding on multiple alloys, supporting repairs and modernization of marine vessels. You will also assist in leading helpers, ensuring quality workmanship and strict adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform pipe welding on Aluminum, Copper-Nickel (CuNi), Stainless Steel, and other alloys Support vessel repair, overhaul, and modernization projects Supervise and guide welding helpers as needed Inspect, prep, and clean joints prior to welding Ensure welds meet Navy, MSC, and ABS standards Document work performed, including condition reports Follow lock-out/tag-out and gas-free procedures Coordinate with fire watch for hot work operations Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
Minimum 4+ years of pipe welding experience in a shipyard environment Must pass weld test (Aluminum, CuNi, Stainless, TIG) Proficient in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes Experience with P-3 joints (backing rings) and P-14 socket welds Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Familiarity with Navy, MSC, and ABS standards Strong communication skills and ability to lead helpers Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces and heights
Work Environment:
Work will be performed in a shipyard setting with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, confined spaces, and elevated work areas. PPE is required at all times.
