Job Title:
TIG Welder Job Description Join a family-owned, small food equipment manufacturing shop dedicated to producing high-quality components for the food industry, primarily cheese manufacturers. As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for welding stainless parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet food-grade standards. This role involves both in-shop fabrication and occasional travel for on-site installations and repairs. Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on stainless parts and assemblies. Complete subassemblies, grind, and polish welds to a food-grade finish of 32R. Read and interpret blueprints for custom fabrication work. Travel to client sites for installations and repairs during customer shutdowns, working long shifts as needed. Cross-train in other areas of the shop as required. Essential Skills 2+ years of TIG welding experience on stainless steel. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Ability to grind and polish welds to a 32R food-grade finish. Willingness to travel for overnight stays and extended workdays. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with food-grade stainless steel. Experience in installations and field repairs. Work Environment Work in a small fabrication and machine shop with around 10 employees, operating on a single shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Specialize in manufacturing components for the food, dairy, and beverage industries. Be prepared for occasional travel to customer sites within Wisconsin during shutdown periods, requiring long days to complete necessary repairs and upgrades. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fond du Lac, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
