Job Description Position Title:
Sub Arc Welder Wage:
$24.00- $29.
Shift:
1stHours:
6:00am- 2:00pm We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sub Arc Welder to join our manufacturing team in Wausau, WI.
Sub Arc Welder Responsibilities:
- Operate submerged arc welding (SAW) equipment to weld metal components and assemblies.
- Set up and adjust welding machines, equipment, wire, flux, and other materials according to job specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and specifications
- Inspect materials and completed welds for proper alignment, penetration, appearance, and quality
- Monitor welding equipment and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistent weld quality
- Perform basic measurements and verify dimensions using measuring tools
- Prepare surfaces and components for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and positioning materials
- Maintain proper welding parameters and follow established welding procedures
- Identify welding defects or equipment issues and make necessary corrections or report problems to a supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE requirements
- Perform other welding and fabrication duties as assigned Requirements for
Sub Arc Welder:
- Previous welding experience preferred; Sub Arc Welding experience is a strong plus
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols
- Basic knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to use measuring tools and welding-related equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positions
- Ability to work around welding fumes, heat, noise, and industrial equipment while following required safety procedures
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
