Job Description

Job Overview The primary function of the Welder Fabricator is to build products to exact drawing specifications, ensuring quality and efficiency in all fabrication tasks. Responsibilities Perform aluminum welding and fabrication on barges, marine equipment, and structural components, ensuring strength and durability. Utilize proper tools, materials, and MIG/TIG welding techniques for aluminum and steel applications. Cut and prepare raw materials to specified dimensions. Repair and reinforce barge and pier components, including decking and structural supports. Read and follow blueprints and production drawings accurately. Work in both shop and field environments, including outdoor marine settings. Follow production schedules and complete tasks on time. Track hours and maintain quality standards by inspecting completed work. Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Report hazards or equipment issues promptly. Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of welding experience, with a strong preference for aluminum welding. Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum preferred). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings. Experience with marine equipment, barges, or structural fabrication is a plus. Proficient with power tools and fabrication equipment. Ability to work in physically demanding and outdoor environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Working Conditions and Physical Efforts Work involves walking, talking, hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 100 pounds occasionally in addition to using material handling equipment. May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision assessments. Moderately loud noise levels in the plant environment.
