Job Description

Job Summary:
The Welder will support fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities for oil and gas field operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Welds and assembles piping, pressure vessels, structural steel, and equipment components according to blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings. Cuts, grinds, and shapes materials to ensure proper alignment and fit-up before welding. Supports on-site field welding activities for pipelines, flow lines, tanks, and wellsite equipment as needed. Inspects welds for defects, porosity, cracks, and proper alignment, ensuring all work meets company quality standards and API, AWS, and ASME codes. Maintains accurate records of welding activities, inspection reports, and material certifications. Inspects, maintains, and repairs welding equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Follows and enforces health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, including proper use of PPE, hot work permits, and site-specific safety procedures. Responds to emergency repair requests for urgent field welding needs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to pass weld qualification tests in various positions (2G, 3G, 5G, 6G). Familiarity with pipeline and facility construction processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or completion of an accredited welding program is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for long periods of time. Comfortable working in outdoor environments with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and noise. Must be physically able to operate manual transmission vehicles. Regular exposure to heavy equipment and oilfield conditions.
