Job Description

Job Summary:
The Welder is responsible for joining metal components using various welding techniques to fabricate and repair products according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and equipment, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Job duties and tasks can vary from day to day based on company needs.
Responsibilities:
Welding and Fabrication:
Perform welding tasks using various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core) as required. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS). Set up and operate welding equipment, including welding machines, torches, and related tools. Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning. Weld components in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead). Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components. Inspect welds for quality, including visual inspection and use of measuring tools. Repair and maintain welding equipment. •
Safety and Quality:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications. Perform quality checks and document results. Perform daily equipment inspections. •
Other Duties:
Assist with other shop tasks as needed. Maintain accurate records of work performed. Contribute to team efforts to meet production goals.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core). Knowledge of welding symbols, blueprints, and WPS. Understanding of metal properties and welding metallurgy. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. •
Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Ability to set up and operate welding equipment. Ability to perform welding tasks accurately and efficiently. Ability to use measuring tools and inspection equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail.
Education and Experience Preferred:
High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment. Welding certification(s) preferred. Formal welding training from a trade school or technical college is a plus. •
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and fumes. Must have good hand eye coordination.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Require prolonged standing, walking, and lifting 50 pounds materials. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Potential for shift work and overtime. Awareness of moving machinery and industrial hazards is essential.
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 2nd shift 10-hour shifts Weekends as needed
