Job Description

Our client is a full-service marina located on Smith Cove in Niantic, Connecticut, offering boat slips, storage, and maintenance services for recreational boaters. It also features amenities like a fuel dock, on-site service department, and seasonal dining and recreational options in a protected, calm cove near Long Island Sound.
Salary:
$22-$28 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a dependable and hardworking Marina Yard Worker to support daily operations in the boatyard and waterfront facility. This role is responsible for assisting with boat handling, general yard maintenance, and supporting vessel movements in and out of the water. Travel lift experience is not required, as training will be provided. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and wants to build skills in marine operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with launching, retrieving, and positioning boats in the marina yard. Support the operation of travel lifts and other boat-handling equipment (training provided) Perform general yard maintenance, including cleanup, organization, and equipment upkeep. Assist with blocking, chocking, and securing vessels in storage areas Help prepare boats for service, storage, or transport Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines Communicate with team members to coordinate vessel movement and yard flow Perform basic inspections of boats and report any visible issues or concerns Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
Previous marina, landscaping, construction, or labor experience preferred but not required.d Willingness to learn travel lift and boat handling operations (training provided) Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Basic attention to detail and safety awareness Comfortable working around boats, equipment, and water environments
