Job Description

Market Manager 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Durango, CO 81301 From $4,000 a month - Full-time Webb's Market 3 reviews From $4,000 a month - Full-time Overview I am looking for someone with some retail, inventory and personnel management experience, with solid references. The job will be A to Z management of a small, rural Market (General Store), and will eventually include the hiring and management of 2-3 part time employees. Quite honestly, it will probably require 5-6 days a week (45-55 hours) for the first 2-3 months. After that we'll have a much better idea of the hours we'll need to be open, and we can hire some part time help to ease the work load. I just want to be honest about what I think it's gonna take to get it started. The job will require someone that has a nice, welcoming personality for our customers. It will also require an individual that is comfortable being alone for periods of time, and a person that is self motivated. There will just be lots to figure out in the beginning, and the time when no customers are in the Market is the time that will need to be used to decide what products need to be stocked, and what needs to be eliminated from the inventory. What days of the week, and what hours we need to be open for business. The Manager will also be responsible for the facility management, which means making sure all the equipment is functioning properly, like the coolers, the freezer, the HVAC and POS systems, etc. That doesn't mean that the Manager needs to be a repair person, just that they can make sure the systems are working properly, and if not, they'll need to call for maintenance/repair. The Manager will also be in charge of making sure the facility is clean and neat on a daily basis, though I do plan to have a weekly cleaning service. In essence, just sitting around playing video games, or texting friends when there are no customers in the store, isn't gonna work. I have always asked of my employees a solid work ethic, and honesty. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes, so just always tell me the truth, and together we can make better decisions moving forward from errors. Also, I believe it's important that the Manager live reasonably close to the Market. Durango, Bayfield, Vallecito or closer is probably best. So, if you believe you're qualified based upon the above description, and would like a "ground floor" opportunity at what should be a great new business in an area that really needs what we'll bring to the community, please apply, and I'll be happy to interview you.
Pay:
From $4,000.00 per month Application Question(s): Do you have the ability and commitment to work more than a 40 hour work week for the first 2-3 months?
Experience:
retail management: 2 years (Preferred)
Language:
fluent English (Required)
Work Location:
In person
