Job Description

At Lumber Traders, we do more than sell building materials, tools, rentals, and home improvement products. We help people build homes, complete projects, grow businesses, solve problems, and strengthen our local community. We are looking for a creative, driven, and highly organized Marketing & Customer Engagement Manager to help bring that story to life. This is a hands-on marketing role for someone who loves turning ideas into action. You will help shape the way customers experience Lumber Traders and our family of local brands: Angeles Millwork & Lumber Co., Hartnagel Building Supply, Angeles Rentals, and Hartnagel Glassworks. You will create campaigns, promote events, tell stories, produce content, strengthen our digital presence, support our store teams, and help bring more customers through our doors. What You'll Help Lead In this role, you will be the creative force behind many of the moments, messages, and experiences that connect our company with customers. Your work will help drive customer traffic, increase engagement, support revenue growth, and strengthen trust in brands that have served Clallam County for generations. You will help plan and execute seasonal campaigns, vendor promotions, customer appreciation events, contractor events, rental-focused marketing, social media content, digital campaigns, video content, website storytelling, print advertising, radio advertising, and more. This is not a role where you will simply wait for assignments. We need someone who can bring ideas, build plans, manage details, collaborate across departments, and follow through. You will work closely with the CEO, store managers, operations, vendors, and other internal partners to make sure our marketing efforts are practical, timely, creative, and connected to real business results. You will have the opportunity to: Create campaigns that bring customers into our stores. Tell stories that highlight our people, products, vendors, customers, and community. Develop short-form video, social media, and digital content that educates, entertains, and engages. Promote major events and help make them bigger, better, and more effective. Support the growth of Angeles Rentals through rental-focused content, how-to videos, safety messaging, and customer education. Use analytics, feedback, and results to keep improving what we do. Help modernize how a long-standing local company communicates with current and future customers. The right person will get to blend creativity, strategy, design, communication, event promotion, and business thinking in a role where the work is visible and meaningful. You May Be a Great Fit If You Are Creative, curious, and full of ideas. A strong communicator who knows how to make messages clear, engaging, and useful. Comfortable creating graphics, photos, videos, social posts, ads, and promotional materials. Organized enough to manage calendars, deadlines, campaigns, vendors, and details. Collaborative and able to work well with different personalities and departments. Self-directed, practical, and able to prioritize the highest-impact work. Open to feedback and willing to adjust when better ideas or new information emerge. Excited by the idea of helping a local employee-owned company grow. We are especially interested in someone who can think strategically but is also willing to roll up their sleeves and produce the work. This role requires both ideas and execution. Experience We're Looking For Prior experience in marketing, advertising, digital content, social media management, campaign coordination, event promotion, graphic design, video production, or a related field is required. Experience in retail, building materials, rental equipment, construction, home improvement, local business marketing, or multi-location marketing is helpful, but not required. A degree in marketing, communications, business, design, media production, or a related field is preferred, but we care more about your ability, judgment, creativity, portfolio, and follow-through than a specific degree. Comfort with design, photo-editing, video-editing, social media, and digital marketing tools is important. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, or similar platforms is a plus. Compensation & Benefits This position pays $29 - $37 per hour, depending on experience .
