Job Description

Position Purpose:
The Manager, Online Promotions & Events is responsible for setting the strategic direction and business vision for The Home Depot's online promotional programs, including Daily Deals, Special Buy of the Week (SBOTW), Tier 1 Events, and Tier 2 Events. This role partners across Merchandising, Pricing, Promo Operations, Marketing, Analytics, and Technology teams to align priorities, influence promotional strategies, support execution readiness, identify optimization opportunities, and deliver meaningful business results. Through strong cross-functional leadership, data-driven decision making, and team development, this leader drives promotional growth, customer engagement, and continuous improvement across the online promotional portfolio.

40% Drive consistent category-level strategy planning with
Merchants:
coordination of necessary data from both store and online systems along with data from key competitors, development of project templates and concise reporting results for Online and Store Merchants 30% Responsible for the creation and execution of KPI reporting, ensuring accurate data collection while highlighting key insights to drive decision making 20% Manage the execution of key programs and new online initiatives 10% Partner with functional areas such as Supply Chain, Core Merchandising, Vendor Compliance and Inventory Management to ensure effective solutions that can be leveraged across all areas
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
Position reports to Sr. Manager of Merchandise Planning, homedepot.com Number of direct reports is 6. Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Merchandising, Analytics, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, establish a long-term vision, and influence enterprise strategies that drive meaningful business outcomes. 5+ years of experience in Merchandising, Online Merchandising, Promotions, Category Management, Pricing, Marketing, E-Commerce, Analytics, or other related business functions. 1+ years of experience leading, coaching, and developing associates in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies that drive sales growth, customer engagement, profitability, and operational efficiency. Experience owning large-scale promotional programs, marketing campaigns, events, or business initiatives from strategy through post-performance analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and leaders without direct authority. Experience presenting business performance, strategic recommendations, and opportunities to senior leadership audiences. Strong financial acumen, including experience evaluating sales performance, promotional effectiveness, margin impact, and ROI. Experience balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, BigQuery, or similar platforms. Experience leveraging customer, promotional, and performance data to identify optimization opportunities and drive continuous improvement. Knowledge of e-commerce merchandising, digital customer experiences, promotional strategy, retail marketing, or event planning. Experience working across Merchandising, Pricing, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Analytics organizations to achieve shared business objectives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and create executive-ready presentations.
