Job Summary:
The Program Manager 1 will provide direct supervision of professional staff who implement a group of related Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and health promotion (HP) programs and grants. In addition to a supervisory role, this position will assist in the implementation of objectives utilizing Opioid Settlement Funding and will assume a Coordinator position within an HP or SUD subgrant/program.
Qualifications and Proficiencies:
Management and leadership skills and experience Understanding of public health laws and rules Experience with hiring, evaluating, and managing staff performance Knowledge of the core functions and essential services of public health Knowledge of SUD prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery-related information Knowledge of health promotion initiatives Experience in public speaking and presentations, such as conducting community outreach Proficient in analyzing data, budget projections, and project proposals Understanding of computer programs and technologies essential to maintain program effectiveness and efficiency Knowledge of population-based health status indicators, determinants of health and illness, factors contributing to health promotion and disease prevention, and factors influencing the use of health services Knowledge of health care systems structure and function; ability to make appropriate client referrals based upon patient need, program guidelines and community resources Valid Idaho or Washington's driver's license National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (IS)100, 700 and Public Health Ready 101 within six (6) months of employment.
