Advertising Manager The Grundy Register & Butler County Eclipse Full-Time Position | Salary + Commission Help Local Businesses Grow While Supporting Trusted Community Newspapers The Grundy Register and Butler County Eclipse are looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Advertising Manager to lead print and digital advertising sales across Butler and Grundy counties. This is an exciting opportunity to represent two of Iowa's premier community newspapers, working with local businesses, organizations, schools, and nonprofits to help them reach thousands of loyal readers each week. Sales experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and a passion for serving local communities. About the Position As Advertising Manager, you will be responsible for selling advertising solutions across both newspapers and their digital platforms. You'll work directly with business owners to create customized marketing plans that help them grow while supporting quality local journalism. This is more than selling newspaper ads—it's becoming a trusted marketing partner for businesses throughout Butler and Grundy counties. Responsibilities Sell print advertising in The Grundy Register and Butler County Eclipse. Sell digital advertising, including website ads, e-edition placements, sponsored content, social media advertising, email newsletters, and other digital marketing solutions. Develop new business while maintaining strong relationships with existing advertisers. Meet with business owners to understand their marketing goals and recommend effective advertising strategies. Collaborate with our design and editorial teams to create successful advertising campaigns. Manage client communication, proposals, renewals, and follow-up. Represent The Grundy Register and Butler County Eclipse professionally throughout the communities we serve. Help businesses maximize their return on investment through creative marketing solutions. Qualifications Sales, marketing, advertising, or customer service experience preferred. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently. Organized with strong time-management skills. Basic understanding of digital advertising and social media is helpful but not required. Willingness to learn—we will train the right candidate. Reliable transportation for visiting businesses throughout Butler and Grundy counties. Compensation Full-time position. Salary plus commission.
