40 hours per week Pay- $40,000 Base and up to $55,000 a year with commission General Summary of Responsibilities The Account Manager position is a key role at the Union-Bulletin, looking for a great fit between organizations that wish to reach our large, loyal audience. Part of the responsibilities will be to maintain relationships with key clients in the face of the ever-changing marketing landscape, while ensuring focus is kept on adding additional partners in support of our drive to support the growth of our award-winning news team. Essential Job Functions
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and customer service
- Knowledgeable in digital media
- Documented ability to manage and grow a base of consistent customers
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a big plus
- Able to manage a client load of 50-70 active accounts each month that are consistent advertisers or build to that level.
- Ability to maintain existing relationships with accounts and continue to work with them to pitch new advertising opportunities
- Knowledgeable in digital media
- Ability to prospect, research and make outbound cold calls
- Ability to create, pitch and close on proposals to new and existing customers
- Manage display advertising campaigns across all platforms print and digital
- Have moderate to advanced understanding of our digital marketing products and solutions
- Effectively communicate digital marketing reporting to the client on a regular basis
- Able and willing to travel to meet clients/potential clients at their place of business
- Ability to work with attention to detail in a deadline-based environment
- Able to brainstorm and create new approaches to selling
- Take the lead in developing marketing plans to grow existing business
- Suggest new products/audiences (as needed) to help maintain or grow advertiser spend with portfolio of products
- Use all forms of media to help prospect and sell advertising solutions
- Understand this is a hybrid work from our office / work remote position Other Duties
- The ability to coach Account Representatives when needed, especially during the launch of new digital advertising products and services.
- Assist the Ad Director in onboarding new Account Representatives (when applicable) and take on the role of mentor to new and current Account Representatives.
- Ability to work with the sales coordinator to help advertisers through the creative process; including, but not limited to coming up with creative ideas, upload creative assets in DesignIQ and download files to send to customers to proof and finalizing ads in a timely manner

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to manage multiple projects
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal Experience Candidate should have at least two years' experience in consultative selling role, account management, and presenting solutions to business owners.
Skills and Abilities / Lifting Requirements (Maximum weight required) This position requires a strong aptitude for learning and working with the Microsoft suite of products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must have reliable transportation. Good organizational skills, multi-tasking, and good understanding of the digital landscape as it relates to websites and the internet. Minimum Education, certifications or licenses High school diploma. This position requires the use of a personal vehicle in order to perform its job duties. This means the employee must possess an active driver's license, must be able to provide proof of liability insurance via declaration page, and maintain a clean driving record. Records may be requested upon hire and annually thereafter. Contact with Others Must interact and work well with others internally and externally. Excellent communication skills and teamwork. Supervision Received Requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Attend weekly sales meetings, training, adhere to deadlines and meet revenue goals Supervision of others Does not manage others. Pressure of Work Multiple products, projects and deadlines. Primary Job Location (Indicate whether the position is remote, or travel required) The position is located at our Walla Walla Union-Bulletin office. As a hybrid position, It is a mix of working from the office and from the field.
