Full-Time Department:
Advertising If you love turning smart strategy into measurable results — and can move seamlessly from big-picture planning to hands-on execution — you'll thrive here. At Yuit Communications, a full-service creative and media agency based in Anchorage, Alaska, we're known for data-driven campaigns, disciplined execution, and measurable impact. We move fast, think sharp, and connect the dots between strategy, storytelling, and performance. We're hiring an Associate Director of Advertising who leads with precision and poise. You'll own campaigns end-to-end, mentor Specialists, and help scale a growing department built on discipline, collaboration, and innovation. Working directly with our Director of Advertising, you'll strengthen processes, evolve tools, and build the operational backbone for a multi-million-dollar media program. This role offers real ownership, measurable impact, and the opportunity to shape how advertising operates at Yuit.
What You'll Do:
Turn strategy into action. Translate the Director's strategy into channel and tactic plans across digital, programmatic, and traditional media. Lead full-funnel execution. Oversee the entire campaign lifecycle — build, QA, launch, pacing, optimization, testing, and reporting — ensuring delivery is clean and on time. Own the rhythm. Run weekly client statuses, manage ETAs, triage requests, and keep both team and client aligned on priorities. Tell the story through data. Deliver clear, on-time reporting and insights that translate numbers into business outcomes. Guard measurement integrity. Maintain clean data across analytics and reporting tools, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment between platforms. Champion testing. Drive a steady cadence of creative, audience, and bidding experiments; document results and scale winners. Coordinate vendors and orders. Manage digital partners, DSPs, and traditional vendors (broadcast, radio, print, OOH/DOOH); oversee IOs/BOs, makegoods, and reconciliations. Coach and lead. Oversee the daily work of Advertising Specialists — set expectations, provide feedback, and foster continuous improvement. Strengthen the foundation. Maintain SOPs, enforce quality standards, and implement automations that improve accuracy and efficiency. Lead Incident Response. Classify issues, stabilize quickly, communicate clearly, and close the loop with RCA and prevention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Architecture Translate campaign strategy into integrated plans with clear KPIs, QA criteria, and acceptance standards. Build campaign architecture per platform, including structure, naming, UTM, audience segmentation, bid strategy, and placement mapping. Collaborate with Creative and Client Services teams to align messaging, targeting, and measurement. Execution & QA Issue and oversee campaign builds; ensure creative, audience, and targeting staging is complete and brand-safe before launch. Run pre-flight QA and approve launches. Manage pacing within ±3% of plan; log all adjustments and decisions. Conduct ongoing hygiene (rotations, placements, budget allocations, supply path) and escalate issues when needed. Data & Reporting Maintain data accuracy across platforms and TapClicks; reconcile discrepancies and align dashboards. Deliver polished weekly and monthly reports with clear takeaways—goals, results, drivers/drags, actions/asks. Client Communication & Collaboration Lead and support client communication through weekly status calls, pacing updates, and proactive expectation management. Deliver concise, insight-driven updates that translate performance data into actionable recommendations. Partner with the Director of Advertising and Client Services teams to ensure alignment between media strategy, creative, and client goals. Vendor & Operations Manage vendor and DSP communication; maintain traditional media delivery and documentation. Lead stabilization during incidents (pause, rollback, or swap); confirm recovery within 2-4 hours; complete RCA within 48 hours and apply learnings to SOPs. Oversee the day-to-day work of Advertising Specialists; ensure documentation accuracy, QA discipline, and continuous improvement.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of paid media experience across Meta, Google/YouTube, and at least two of TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Reddit, plus at least one DSP (The Trade Desk, StackAdapt, or comparable). A track record of operating independently — you've carried a portfolio without close supervision and you keep your own commitments on track. Proven experience managing or formally mentoring direct reports; you know the difference between delegating and dumping. Proven cross-channel planning across digital, programmatic, and traditional media (broadcast TV, radio, OOH/DOOH, print). Experience with broadcast orders (IO/BO) and vendor coordination for traditional placements. Strong command of campaign architecture — naming, UTM, audience segmentation, bidding, and geo/device mapping. Highly detail-oriented and QA-driven; adept at catching setup or tracking errors before launch. Skilled in data storytelling, reporting, and visualization — turning performance data into actionable insights. Confident client communicator; proactive, organized, and able to translate complex data into next steps. Advanced Excel/Sheets (pivots, lookups, formulas); TapClicks, Workamajig, Bionic, or Looker Studio experience welcome — we'll train on ours. Calm and decisive when things break; ensures transparent communication and timely resolution. Strong people leader — clear expectations, feedback, and accountability while maintaining team morale. Excellent written and verbal communication; polished presentation skills; thrives under pressure. (Bonus) Familiarity with Marketing Mix Modeling and how its output informs budget and optimization strategy. (Bonus) Hands-on traditional trafficking experience (IO/BO issuance, makegoods, reconciliation). (Bonus) Familiarity with the Alaska market, experience in advertiser-specific compliance, and relevant platform certifications or programmatic accreditations. We'd rather hire someone with a strong core and one closeable gap than someone who checks every box.
WHO THRIVES HERE
They run their own game. You'll be trusted with your portfolio from early on. That means tracking your own to-dos, setting your own priorities, and closing the loop without being chased. They're good company. Work here happens out loud — you share drafts before they're polished, ask for a second set of eyes, and give yours freely. We're a small team that genuinely likes each other, and a sense of humor goes a long way on the days a platform decides to reinvent itself. They start things. In a growing department, the work doesn't always arrive pre-scoped. If you see a gap, you close it — and you tell people you did. They arrive curious. We've built processes that work, and we're still improving them. Come ready to learn how we do things before you rewrite them, and we'll take your ideas seriously when you do. They respect the lanes. We're small enough that everyone helps, and disciplined enough that everyone knows who owns what. Both matter. They like the craft. Good media work is detailed work. The people who enjoy it here are the ones who get satisfaction from a clean build and an honest number.
