Job Description

Overview The GEMS Facilitation and Outreach Coordinator is a key figure in promoting and advancing Oakland Natives Give Back's mission. This role is responsible for developing and implementing outreach initiatives for the GEMs (Growing, Empowered, Motivated Scholars) and BOTP (Building Opportunities Through Play) programs. The Coordinator will design engaging curricula, train and support staff, and establish meaningful connections with schools and community organizations. Additional duties include conducting school site visits, hosting events, and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders to further program goals. Responsibilities 1. Curriculum Development Develop and implement dynamic curricula for
GEMS/BOTP
programs that inspire and engage student participants. 2. Facilitation and Training Train staff to deliver in-person and virtual programs effectively, utilizing best practices for community outreach. 3. Audience Engagement Design and facilitate sessions that captivate students and encourage participation in ONGB's programs. 4. Community Engagement Conduct school site visits to establish and strengthen partnerships with educational institutions. Host events to promote the mission and offerings of Oakland Natives Give Back. Coordinate GEMS Alumni engagement quarterly events and activities. 5. Stakeholder Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain relationships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), school districts, funders, and private businesses to support organizational objectives. 6. Collaborative Goal Achievement Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet outreach goals and support collaborative projects.
Skills Physical Ability:
Able to lift 25 lbs., walk, sit, and talk for extended periods.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Microsoft 365).
Organization:
Capable of setting and meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks efficiently. Comfort with
Desk Work:
Comfortable sitting at a desk for up to 6 hours daily.
Written Communication:
Produce clear, concise, and well-formatted reports with accurate grammar, punctuation, and data insights, meeting all report deadlines.
Verbal Communication:
Communicate clearly and confidently, maintaining a respectful and nprofessional tone. Practice active listening to support constructive conversations.
Data Familiarity:
Knowledgeable in various data collection methods.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Political Science, or a related field.
Youth Experience:
Minimum of 5 years working with youth and young adults, demonstrating an understanding of their needs.
Community Outreach:
At least 3 years of experience in community outreach and engagement, with a proven track record of successful partnership-building.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Organization:
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Technology:
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Excel, and report writing.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and have the ability to sit/stand for at least 25% of the time. Additional Requirments Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain current proof of auto insurance. From $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
