- Job Description Summary The Community Relations Specialist for the Weld County District Attorney's Office is responsible for a number of duties, including the facilitation and maintenance of all community contacts for the District Attorney's Office and serving as a liaison with the public and the media. This position is a management position in the District Attorney's Office.
- Job Description Prevention Programming
- 10% Responsible for maintaining prevention programs within the D.A.'s Office, including researching and designing Fraud Alerts. Research, develop and provide trainings on prevention topics, such as identity theft, sexting, social media safety and cyberbullying. Community Programs
- 10% Work to further the image of the District Attorney's Office by pursuing opportunities for employees to be involved in the local community through community service projects (i.e. school supply drives, food drives, reading to students, Mock Trial team coaching and judging, etc.). Media Communications
- 30% Responsible for all communication, proactive and reactive, with media outlets throughout Colorado and beyond, including weekly case tracking summaries, press releases, opinion and editorial pieces, and media requests/inquiries.
- 20% Responsible for administering the website for the Weld County District Attorney's Office to include, but not limited to: Posting press releases to the "news section".
- 30% Responsible for communicating important events, policies and programs to office employees.
- Required Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree in journalism (preferably broadcast), public relations, communications, criminal justice, political science or related field required.
