The Resource Development Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing fundraising strategies that strengthen corporate partnerships, engage individual donors, expand volunteer involvement, and generate sustainable revenue to advance the mission of United Way. This position manages a portfolio of corporate and community partners while leading annual workplace campaigns, cultivating major donor relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting strategic fundraising initiatives. Success in this role requires exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, strong project management abilities, and a passion for creating lasting community impact. Working collaboratively across the organization, the Resource Development Director helps ensure United Way continues to mobilize the caring power of our community to improve lives throughout Central Georgia.

Macon, Georgia (In-Person) Key Responsibilities Annual Campaign Strategy & Fundraising Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies to achieve assigned campaign goals and organizational objectives. Manage a portfolio of workplace campaigns and corporate accounts through year-round relationship management. Plan, organize, and execute annual workplace campaigns from campaign planning through final campaign closeout. Monitor campaign progress, analyze results, prepare forecasts, and recommend strategies to maximize fundraising success. Evaluate historical campaign performance to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement. Prepare campaign reports, projections, and performance analyses for leadership. Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate campaign reporting, gift processing, pledge reconciliation, and campaign closeout. Maintain accurate campaign records and donor information within the organization's CRM/database. Ensure donors receive exceptional stewardship throughout the giving process. Corporate Partnerships & Donor Engagement Build and maintain strong, year-round relationships with corporate partners, community leaders, and individual donors. Cultivate and grow new corporate partnerships while expanding engagement with existing accounts. Develop and execute customized engagement strategies that increase campaign participation, volunteer involvement, sponsorships, and corporate giving. Identify opportunities to grow annual giving, leadership giving, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and other philanthropic investments. Conduct workplace campaign presentations, donor meetings, and community engagement opportunities. Provide outstanding customer service and stewardship to donors and corporate partners. Maintain consistent communication with assigned accounts through meetings, campaign updates, recognition activities, and follow-up. Represent United Way professionally throughout the community while strengthening strategic partnerships. Volunteer Leadership & Campaign Support Recruit, train, support, and recognize Employee Campaign Coordinators, campaign volunteers, committee members, and campaign cabinet volunteers. Coordinate volunteer training sessions, planning meetings, and campaign kickoffs. Provide ongoing guidance, resources, and support to volunteers to ensure successful fundraising efforts. Assist volunteers in establishing campaign goals, timelines, engagement strategies, and recognition plans. Foster meaningful volunteer experiences that strengthen long-term involvement with United Way. Support volunteer recruitment efforts for organizational initiatives, community engagement opportunities, and special events. Strategic Growth & Business Development Research and identify prospective companies, organizations, and community partners with strong fundraising potential. Develop strategies to secure new workplace campaigns and expand United Way's presence throughout the community. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through corporate sponsorships, employee engagement initiatives, grants, and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy and Resource Development team to identify growth opportunities across donor segments. Monitor business trends, community needs, and emerging opportunities that support organizational growth. Serve as a resource and mentor to other Resource Development staff by sharing successful fundraising strategies and best practices. Represent United Way at networking events, community meetings, and partner functions to strengthen community awareness and engagement. Cross-Department Collaboration & Organizational Leadership Partner with Finance to ensure accurate reporting, campaign reconciliation, collections, and donor acknowledgements. Work collaboratively with Community Impact staff to communicate program outcomes and connect donors with United Way's mission. Support organizational fundraising events, community engagement initiatives, and special projects. Maintain confidentiality of donor information and organizational data. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all interactions. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support organizational priorities. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred but not required. Experience Minimum of two-five years of professional experience in fundraising, sales, business development, relationship management, marketing, or a related field preferred but not required. Experience managing corporate accounts, donor portfolios, or customer relationships preferred. Experience working with volunteers, committees, or community organizations is preferred. Experience with donor database/CRM software preferred. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Commitment to providing outstanding customer service to donors, volunteers, and community partners. Willingness to work occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends during campaign season and special events when needed.
