Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information GA Southern Literacy Center Job Summary The marketing and communications manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications, marketing, and outreach initiatives that advance the Literacy Center's mission, programs, research, and partnerships. This position manages internal and external communications, promotes the Center's impact to stakeholders, and strengthens the Center's visibility among educators, policymakers, researchers, funders, and the public. Employment is contingent upon funding. Responsibilities Overseeing the strategic communications and marketing activities of the GSU Literacy Center to advance its mission, programs, research, and partnerships Managing communications projects that support the coaching initiatives, professional learning opportunities, research dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and the Center's growth Providing communications and marketing counsel to Center leadership, partner schools, project directors, researchers, and staff to ensure alignment with the Center's strategic goals and priorities Directing and coordinating the development of marketing, communications, and public relations plans, materials, and projects, including content creation, storytelling, photography, graphic design, and publication efforts Attending meetings on behalf of the Director and Associate Director of the Center, when needed Working collaboratively with university communications, advancement, and partner organizations to increase awareness of the Center's mission, impact, and funding opportunities Assisting with major Center events, special projects, and strategic initiatives as needed Coordinating marketing and promotional efforts for conferences, workshops, webinars, trainings, community outreach events, and fundraising or development initiatives in partnership with university and external stakeholders Collaborating with researchers, project staff, school partners, and stakeholders to highlight program outcomes, research findings, educator success stories, and literacy and coaching impact initiatives Developing presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and other communication resources for Center leadership and partner school teams Creating and managing content for newsletters, annual reports, impact reports, Center dissemination materials, web content, social media campaigns, promotional materials, communication channels, and other reports, as needed Leading and coordinating the Center's digital presence, including potential website management, social media platforms, email communications, and other web-based communication initiatives Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, and three (3) years of related professional experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, seven (7) years of directly related professional experience may be substituted Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field Preferred Experience Experience with state-level policies and initiatives Proposed Salary $65,000 - $70,000 This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
