Job Description

Job Overview:
Our mission is to provide representation and information to support the local agricultural needs of Will County. We have operated as a non-profit organization for the last 100 years, excelling in local advocacy, education, and development, all to make a difference in our community. The Community Engagement Specialist is primarily responsible for our involvement pertaining to the Will County community, who may not be directly involved in agriculture but are willing to support our cause. This role will be responsible for strengthening our relationship with other community organizations through meeting attendance and events, developing programs to engage the agriculturally interested members, and promote educational opportunities to increase the dialogue between consumers and producers.
Essential Responsibilities :

Cultivate working relationship with community organizations and non-profits to provide strengthened presence in the community Facilitate programs and educational opportunities for non-agriculture communities for increased cooperation and enthusiasm to join our cause Provide marketing opportunities for social media and local publication presence Develop creative, promotional, and informative communication materials with both in-office and statewide staff Provide WCFB information to organizations and communities in a creative and engaging manner Collect data and track effort Competency -
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with members, partners, and employees Ability to engage local organizations at a subject matter expert level Must be organized and a self-starter to prioritize workload Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to learn in-house systems and software Background or knowledge of agriculture preferred If interested, please provide a Resume and Cover Letter to jackson@willcfb.com
