Mission Critical Location:
Kansas City Position Summary Telios is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to join our Kansas City Mission Critical team with a focus on telecommunications infrastructure for data center projects. This position offers the opportunity to serve as a key technical resource and market sector LV lead as we expand our telecommunications and low-voltage capabilities into Kansas City. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively with our multidisciplinary design teams, clients, contractors, and technology partners to develop coordinated, constructible telecommunications solutions. This individual will take ownership of client relationships, project delivery, and team development, with the potential to ultimately lead a dedicated telecommunications and low-voltage practice. Responsibilities Design telecommunications infrastructure and structured cabling systems for data center and other mission critical facilities Develop plans, specifications, details, schedules, and other construction documents Perform telecommunications pathway, space, cabling, and infrastructure design Coordinate telecommunications systems with architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, security, A/V, and other building systems Conduct field investigations and document existing conditions Provide technical guidance and recommendations throughout design and construction Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary design teams Support construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and design revisions Independently manage assigned project responsibilities, schedules, and deliverables Help develop technical standards, client relationships, and Telios's growing telecommunications and low-voltage capabilities Develop team member's technical, communication, and leadership competency and grow the LV group to support the needs of a growing market Minimum Criteria Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline Minimum of eight years of demonstrated professional experience in telecommunications or low-voltage building systems design Demonstrated project experience designing telecommunications or low-voltage systems for data center or other mission critical facilities Demonstrated experience designing structured cabling systems, telecommunications pathways and spaces, and related infrastructure Demonstrated experience developing telecommunications construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD, or similar building design/documentation software BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification Additional industry certifications, including
AVIXA CTS-D, ASIS
PSP, SmartScore AP, or WiredScore AP, are preferred Demonstrated experience leading telecommunications or low-voltage design projects is preferred
