Job Description
Job Summary We are an independent dispatch company & we are hiring Communications Officers for our Dispatch Center located in Lexington, KY. Dispatch experience is preferred, but not required. We are looking to hire approximately 4-5 Communications Officers at this time. At Federated Communications we dispatch for law enforcement, security agencies, bail enforcement companies, private investigators, independent EMS agencies, etc. across the country. We use RoIP PTT technology to offer service from coast to coast, in all 50 states of the United States & parts of Canada. Applicants should have a working knowledge of computers, multi-line telephones, & be able to type at least 40 WPM. Communications Officers will answer emergency & non-emergency calls for clients through our dispatch center & dispatch out the appropriate units via our radio communications. Each team member will open & maintain a CAD report for each call, adding information to each CAD as it becomes available from the reporting party or from the responding units. They will also run license plates, social security numbers, warrants, operator license numbers, VIN's, etc. for units. Applicates should be able to multitask under potentially high stress conditions. Full time positions will be salaried at 40 hours, and after a 90 day probationary period, Communications Officers will be eligible for vacation time, limited to 14 days of vacation per year. Applicants must be able to pass a state & federal background check and a pre-employment drug screening. Those with felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude will not be accepted.
