Job Description

Strategic Communications Manager

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Strategic Communications Manager to sit at Joint Base Andrews. This candidate will serve as a strategic communications leader supporting highly visible IT operations throughout the National Capital Region. The ideal candidate will drive communication strategies that enhance awareness, customer experience, and mission effectiveness across multiple military organizations. Working closely with senior military leadership, this individual will develop executive-level briefings, strategic messaging campaigns, newsletters, notifications, and communication plans while translating complex IT operations into clear, actionable information. This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-level IT modernization initiatives, collaborate with key Air Force and cyber organizations, and serve as a trusted advisor to commanders and senior decision-makers in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.

Must-Haves:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance at start
  • BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree
  • Military or Government experience and specifics experience with with defense communication strategies and operational security
  • Strategic communications planning and execution experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop executive-level briefings and messaging
  • Leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate messaging across multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Experience advising senior leadership on communications strategy
Plusses:
  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Advanced degree
  • Crisis communications experience
  • Public affairs or public relations background
  • Media relations experience
  • 8+ years of military experience
  • Experience supporting the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR)
  • Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP®)
  • Communication Management Professional (CMP®)
  • Experience with UX initiatives and customer experience programs
  • Knowledge of Air Force IT operations and modernization effortsExact Pay will vary based on candidates background including overall years of experience, depth of knowledge, and clearance level.

However, we anticipate paying 115K - 135K for this roles as well as offer a competitive benefits package including health, vision, dental, and 401K benefits.
