Valid MN Driver's License, current insurance or be insurable. CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to be certified. Mandated Reporting Certification.
Summary:
Responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering engaging youth programming with a strong focus on Anishinaabe culture, traditions, and community values. This role requires an enthusiastic, culturally respectful individual who is passionate about youth development community building, and Anishinaabe knowledge sharing. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required/
Education Requirements and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) is required.
Two (2) years experience in youth programming.
Experience in program planning and development.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Experience working with youth in a variety of settings.
Previous experience planning and facilitating cultural programming for youth. Familiarity with local communities.
Strong organizational, time-management, budgeting, and resource management skills. Good oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe safety-sensitive positions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and facilitate youth programs that promote cultural identity, personal growth, and community engagement.
Incorporate Anishinaabe traditional activities, language, arts, land-based activities, and teachings into programming.
Collaborate with elders, knowledge keepers, local leaders, and other community members to ensure culturally relevant and respectful programming.
Build positive relationships with youth and their families to encourage participation and ongoing engagement. Organize events, workshops, and outings that involve people of all ages and foster a sense of community.
Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and community partners.
Promote programs through community outreach, social media, and other communication channels. Maintain records and provide regular reports on participation and outcomes.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
Attend and/or conduct all mandatory meetings and trainings as required.
Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Travel in and out of state may be required as necessary. Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture.
Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.
All other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs, using proper body mechanics. Sedentary and physical activity work.
