Are you or someone you know interested in making a meaningful impact in Carrboro through community engagement? Our team is seeking passionate individuals to serve as Community Ambassadors in support of the Town of Carrboro's Affordable Housing Plan. For the plan to be truly representative of the people of Carrboro and their needs, ambassadors play a crucial role in bridging the communication gap. As part of this project, we need to hear from those who will be most impacted by affordable housing decisions. Community Ambassadors will support this effort by: Word of Mouth
- Sharing information about the Plan via social media and email Tabling at Events
- Setting up a display table at community events to share information with and get input from event goers Canvassing
- Going door to door in communities to share information Meeting-in-a-bag
- Adding this Plan as an agenda item to your organization's existing meeting to share the project's explainer video and encourage attendees to complete the Plan questionnaire (paper or digital) Street Interviews
- Going to pre-approved venues to engage residents in conversations The various options for serving as an ambassador require different levels of training and preparation.
They are opportunities to learn and lead, network, boost your resume, and earn money, all while making a positive impact.
