Community Engagement Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Engagement Manager to lead our efforts in building vibrant, inclusive, and impactful relationships within our communities and with our volunteers. In this role, you will ensure there is sufficiently trained and an engaged pool of volunteers to assist staff with daily shelter operations, foster care, special projects, and events. You will provide excellent and responsive service to community partners and other members of our community. Duties Volunteer Leadership:
Nurture enriching relationships with volunteers. Provide on-going guidance to increase safety, cultivate a sense of community. Support and motivate volunteers. Establish a predictable schedule for communication to ensure a strong connection with the shelter.
Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding:
Develop effective strategies to attract and recruit dedicated volunteers who share our passion for animal welfare. Conduct volunteer orientation and training. Foster Care recruitment,
Compliance & Coordination:
Ensure there is a pool of foster homes with valid inspections in compliance with state regulations. Work in partnership to inform fosters of pets in need of foster placement. Serve as the liaison to coordinate pick-up and drop-off of foster pets and supplies.
Volunteered Supported Initiatives:
Coordinate volunteers for volunteered supported initiatives such as collecting donations from local businesses.
Partnership Development & Partner Relations:
Expand quantity of community partnerships.
Events & Groups:
Respond inquiries for group volunteer projects, school tours including humane education, hosted events and more. Coordinate, prepare and attend partner and third party events.
Program Management:
Maintain volunteer database which includes fosters. Report volunteer statistics as needed. Maintain and update volunteer handbooks and training.
Program Advancement:
Advance the volunteer program and community engagement programs in accordance with the strategic plan.
Reporting:
Develop reports to demonstrate impact of volunteer and community engagement efforts. Experience Experience in customer service, coaching or a role where influencing and relationship management was key. Strong knowledge of, or eagerness to learn, animal shelter best practices. Systems savvy, experience and comfort working with systems to manage work tasks and retention of accurate records. Work Hours 38-40 hours per week Tuesday through Saturday, must work a minimum of 2 Saturdays per month and offset with Mondays Additional weekend and holiday hours, as well as occasional evening hours as needed for events. This is an on-site role.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 - 40.0 per week
