Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark Director of Fund Development & Corporate Engagement Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark (HFHGN) is seeking a highly energetic person to lead the fund development team. The successful candidate will have a commitment to volunteerism and making homeownership a reality for families in Union, Hudson, and Essex counties. We are looking for someone with a self-starting, get-it-done attitude, and a proven ability to organize complex processes with leadership skills that can work with a team of goal-oriented oriented. This position has tremendous potential for growth within the organization. This is a full-time position with some Saturdays required. Responsibilities
  • Manage all corporate and foundation relations, Outreach, and attend Networking events
  • Steward and cultivate corporate partners for participation in the Corporate Challenge
  • Issue donor and volunteer acknowledgements promptly
  • Generate quarterly volunteer reports used for Habitat for Humanity International reporting
  • Work with finance to reconcile the online giving platform with the accounting database monthly
  • Manage the filing system for all donation materials
  • Maintain volunteer scheduling calendar and coordinate with the construction team
  • Maintain a supply of donor and volunteer-related literature for distribution, including homeowner applications
  • Schedule volunteers, communicate volunteer guidelines, greet volunteers at projects and send reminder/confirmation emails
  • Proactively manage and develop Campus Chapter relationships
  • Assist with all general volunteer-related telephone and e-mail inquiries
  • Collaborate with PR & Marketing Associate to coordinate public relations, dedications, fundraising or holiday events, and photography of volunteers and HFHGN Partner Families
  • Manage the grants application process and oversee the Grants writer
  • Seek new grant opportunities relevant to HFHGN programs
  • Manage reporting schedule for private and public grants
  • Manage appeals, monthly e-newsletters, and Toolbox (printed newsletter) in collaboration with PR & Marketing Associate
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of Neon CRM database
  • Greet all sponsored groups on construction sites
  • Manage all faith-based volunteer outreach and cultivation Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher
  • Experience in nonprofit event planning and business development
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and attention to detail
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple concurrent assignments and prioritize accordingly
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to conscientiously maintain own timelines and meet own deadlines
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and cultivate strong working relationships
  • Professional demeanor, both in person and on the telephone
  • Broad-based computer skills, including CRM software and various social media platforms
