Thrive Wellness of Reno Job Description Community Relations & Social Media Specialist Our Marketing team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Relations & Social Media Specialistto join our team. This position will report directly to the Marketing Manager. Primary work location will be in-person at our Roy House location. This position is classified as salary, exempt, and full-time. Position Summary In this position, we want you to help us represent Thrive. You're our "face" — to clients, staff, and providers throughout the city, and to the world on social media. It's a fun, dynamic position that includes travel to events and conferences where you'll connect with people across the country, all while building the relationships and content that help Thrive grow.

You'll split your time between being out in the community building referral relationships in person, and behind the camera telling Thrive's story online.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field preferred but not required. 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, referral development, sales, business development, healthcare liaison, social media management, or a related client-facing role. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining professional relationships with external partners (e.g., providers, organizations, community groups). Ability to maintain a consistent physical presence in the local community. Willingness and ability to travel locally for meetings, outreach events, presentations, and networking activities. Excellent communication skills. Proficient in spelling, grammar, multi-tasking. Self-starter who learns quickly. Demonstrates competency and sensitivity in the areas of multicultural, racial, religious/spiritual, gender, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation issues.
Requirements:
Must pass a federal background check at hire. Must adhere to the drug-free workplace act. Demonstrate maturity of judgment, attitude, and life skills. Must demonstrate an ability to adapt to change and remain flexible. Must be a strong team player that works well in a busy environment. Must have strong communication skills and be upbeat, positive, and professional when interacting with clients, providers and fellow co-workers. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively prioritize and manage your time unsupervised & independently.
Competencies:
Creativity and a strong eye for what makes content engaging. Solid understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram. Competency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite. Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable representing Thrive face-to-face. Okay with being in front of a camera. Work Location & Travel Expectations The position is local and in-person, with a social media component that extends Thrive's presence online. Regular attendance at community meetings, referral partner visits, tabling events, and networking opportunities is required. Must attend major trade events, regional and national conferences, and community outreach initiatives. Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support conferences, outreach efforts, and relationship-building activities, and to capture content while doing so.
Duties:
Community & Referral Relationships Identify, establish, and develop strategic relationships with potential referral sources, including healthcare providers, schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing referral sources through regular in-person contact and follow-up. Participate in local, regional, and national conferences, networking events, and community outreach opportunities to represent Thrive and promote all lines of service. Initiate and execute strategies to generate referrals across all levels of care. Serve as a key point of contact for referral partners, ensuring clear, timely communication between referral sources and Thrive providers. Address client and referral partner satisfaction concerns in collaboration with internal teams. Gather feedback from clients, referral sources, and community partners to identify unmet needs and growth opportunities. Social Media Management Own and manage Thrive's social media accounts day-to-day, including posting, scheduling, and community engagement. Collaborate with staff across departments to source, create, and publish content that reflects Thrive's people, programs, and culture. Capture photo and video content while out at events, conferences, and in the community, and turn it into ready-to-post content. Work closely with the Marketing Manager to align social content with broader marketing goals and campaigns. Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages in a timely, on-brand way, and flag opportunities or concerns to the Marketing Manager. Stay current on platform trends (especially Instagram) and bring fresh content ideas to the team. Administrative & Coordination Responsibilities Accurately document all referral source contacts, interactions, and updates in established database and CRM systems. Maintain up-to-date contact information for referrers and stakeholders. Assist with the development, implementation, and refinement of policies and procedures related to referrals, care coordination, and administrative workflows. Support internal communication by sharing community insights, referral trends, and feedback with leadership and clinical teams. Manage inventory of promotional merchandise and event materials, including tracking stock levels, reordering, and packing for events. Marketing & Collaboration Support Assist with the creation of social and digital media content by providing community insights, event highlights, testimonials, and outreach narratives. Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to align community outreach efforts with broader marketing and branding strategies. Additional Duties Perform other related duties across all departments/programs as required to support Thrive's mission, growth, and community presence. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Direct phone or email contact with at least 10 providers/referral sources per week, including referral follow-ups, check-ins, and discharge communications. Direct in-person contact with 8 providers/referral sources per month, including lunches, coffee meetings, tours, and lunch-and-learn events (excluding drop-offs). Attendance at a minimum of 3 tabling events and/or conferences per quarter. Achieve 75% completion rate of referral source surveys sent once per month. Demonstrated growth and diversification of referral sources across all lines of service. Consistent social media posting cadence and measurable growth in engagement/followers, tracked monthly with the Marketing Manager.

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
