Job Description

Position Summary:
Under the direction of Director of Special Events, the Development Associate will play a key role in supporting the Development activities, focusing on fundraising events, volunteer coordination, community engagement, and public relation efforts.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in all aspects of the planning and execution of annual fundraising events, including gala, golf, tennis & pickleball tournament, and walks. Assist with donor engagement and acknowledgement as well as fundraising initiatives such as end-of-year giving. Support special/community events including donation drives to collect food, toys, school supplies, and coats for those in need. Coordinate Volunteers for fundraising events and program activities with point person from each program/department as indicated. Proficiently use Customer Relationship Management software to enter/update donor data and generate reports. Assist in public relation efforts to promote the work of the organization. As needed, the Development Associate will work with Social Media Coordinator for digital communications, including the organization's website, email blasts, event registration sites, and social media pages. Help to publicize upcoming events, highlight program activities and overall organizational achievements. Contribute to public relations outreach as needed. Participate in agency meetings and training sessions as required. Know, understand and follow the Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Standards. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, development, philanthropy, or related field. Valid New York State Driver's License required. Previous experience in development or a related role preferred Proficiency in CRM systems Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities. Detail-oriented, multi-task capable and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Must be able to travel to multiple sites. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Self-Starting and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment. Strong skills in both verbal and written communication. Able to exchange information with other people concisely and accurately. Ability to apply common sense of understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. Demonstrated commitment to the EPIC Family of Human Service Agencies' philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture PC skills—Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint)
