Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate Community Outreach Director to lead our efforts in fostering a strong community for young Jewish families. By building a network of partnerships, both secular and Jewish, you will help transform gatherings into meaningful spaces. Leveraging PJ Library's engagement model, you will recruit, support, train, and lead a group of parent volunteers and staff to form strong relationships within their communities and affinity groups. You will be adept at building bridges with partners throughout Bergen County, including but not limited to synagogues, community centers, small businesses, and more. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement outreach strategies that foster community engagement and strengthen the Jewish community at a pivotal time. As a lead member of our small but mighty team, you will champion community organizing, coordinate impactful programs, and serve as a bridge between young Jewish families and the Jewish ecosystem in our community. Your leadership will inspire collaboration, empower parents, and foster Jewish joy. Duties Develop and execute comprehensive community outreach strategies tailored to the mission of J on the Go, our mobile outreach initiative to engage young families. Lead and supervise volunteers, ensuring effective training, engagement, and retention of an ever-revolving cohort. Build strong partnerships with community organizations, including synagogues, Jewish agencies, and local small businesses. Organize and execute family events, parents' nights out, and affinity group gatherings. Work cooperatively with Marketing to oversee social media platforms and marketing campaigns to increase the program's reach to new young Jewish families. Collect and report on data for grant purposes. Provide overview reports to JCC leaderships. Provide public speaking engagements at donor meetings and professional conferences to share progress and impact on family engagement. Qualifications Proven experience in community outreach or grassroots organizing with a focus on the Jewish community. Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams or volunteers in dynamic environments. Excellent public speaking abilities coupled with effective written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop programs, manage projects, and coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously. Proficiency in building partnerships within and between organizations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage communication effectively while collaborating with community partners. Your dedication will help foster a stronger Jewish communities for young families through innovative programs, strategic partnerships, and compassionate leadership. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
