Job Summary:
TASKS, TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY
Code Compliance Tasks Develop and implement a program to ensure permits are in compliance with conditions of approval. Coordinate and conduct investigations and inspections of properties and structures with property owners, tenants, appropriate city staff and other local, state and federal jurisdictions to ensure compliance with Boardman Development Code, Municipal Code and state regulation provisions as applicable; enters case information and maintains related records. Issues citations, and facilitates corrective action or voluntary compliance plans. Enforce relevant portions of City Ordinances and Codes including but not limited to providing customer service, site visits, written correspondence, written reports, oral and visual presentations to Planning Commission, City Council and Court. Prepares documentation, reports, photographs, notices, and case materials for compliance or court actions. Identify options for resolution including advising the parties of the required applications and permit procedures. Uses databases, GIS, maps, legal documents, and other resources to research complaints, track cases, and support compliance activities. Provides information and customer service to the public, staff, agencies, and other interested parties regarding code enforcement matters. Assists with writing, reviewing, and updating municipal code, policies, and related procedures. Applies applicable laws, ordinances, safety practices, confidentiality requirements, and due process standards. Participates in meetings, trainings, emergency response activities, and ongoing professional development as required.
Animal Control Taks:
Oversees animal control operations, including licensing and accurate data entry into the records management system
Community Engagement Taks:
Coordinates community, city, and other special events under the direction of the City Manager. Develop and design special programs, in cooperation with city departments and outside agencies and individuals, to assist community enhancement. Oversees public outreach, marketing, and promoting events on social media, City website, and other outlets. Serves as a City liaison for projects, updates, and initiatives that support community improvement.

Technology:
Code compliance and animal control software including Citizenserve Language skill requirement or preference: Able to speak Spanish preferred. Able to read Spanish preferred. Able to write Spanish preferred.
