Achievement House Cyber Charter School is seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing & Communications to lead and elevate the school's brand, marketing strategy, and communications efforts. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for shaping how our school is represented to students, families, employees, and the broader community while driving initiatives that support enrollment growth, strengthen brand awareness, and enhance stakeholder engagement. As a hands-on leader, the Director of Marketing & Communications combines strategic vision with operational execution, leading both long-term initiatives and day-to-day communications. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying opportunities, developing innovative solutions, and partnering closely with executive leadership to advance organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, results-oriented professional who can translate strategy into action, ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across all channels while championing the school's mission, values, and reputation. Responsibilities Marketing & Brand Management Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies aligned with schoolwide enrollment, retention, engagement, brand awareness, and organizational goals. Lead school branding and initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging, visual identity, voice, and brand standards across all communications and platforms. Direct multichannel marketing campaigns designed to increase awareness, generate prospective-family interest, and support enrollment growth. Coordinate digital, print, community-based, and other marketing initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness. Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, vendors, and creative partners, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, quality, and timely deliverables that meet school standards. Monitor and report marketing performance, including engagement, lead generation, conversion trends, enrollment outcomes, campaign attribution, cost efficiency, and return on investment (ROI) when measurable. Leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to enhance efficiency, content development, creative production, and workflow efficiency while ensuring final work remains accurate, original, human-centered, and on brand. Schoolwide Communications Develop and maintain an annual schoolwide communications calendar and oversee the creation, coordination, and distribution of schoolwide communications including family letters, announcements, newsletters, leadership messages, promotional materials, and public-facing content. Lead the development and dissemination of internal and external communications, ensuring messaging is timely, accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities, messaging, and brand standards. Direct crisis, emergencies, and other time-sensitive communications in partnership with leadership. Establish communication standards, review and approval processes, and governance practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, accessibility, and compliance with applicable privacy, copyright, media-release, and regulatory requirements. Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executive leadership and identify opportunities to improve engagement and communication effectiveness to families, staff, prospective families, and other stakeholders. Social Media & Digital Presence Lead the school's social media strategy and effectiveness, content development, publication, and engagement efforts across approved platforms ensuring content is professional, timely, brand-aligned, and compliant with applicable student privacy and media-release requirements. Develop compelling student, family, staff, and alumni stories and content including photographs, information, and contributions from departments across the school that highlights student achievement, school programs, staff, events, and the broader Achievement House community and impact. Monitor social media performance, audience growth, lead generation, and campaign effectiveness, adjusting strategies based on data, audience response, enrollment objectives, and organizational goals. Website & Digital Marketing Serve as the strategic lead for website content, user experience, messaging, branding, and digital presence. Lead and support the website redesign and website enhancement initiatives while partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors as needed to ensure information is accurate, current, user-friendly, and aligned with the school's brand and enrollment goals. Oversee digital marketing efforts including advertising, search strategy, landing pages, and analytics, recommending improvements that support enrollment, engagement and organizational goals. Enrollment & Family Experience Partner closely with Enrollment and Family & Student Experience leadership to develop marketing and communications strategies that support prospective families from initial awareness through enrollment and retention. Develop messaging, materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the Achievement House experience, academic offerings, student supports, and overall value to families. Support enrollment, family engagement, recruitment, and retention initiatives through integrated marketing and communications efforts. Ensure marketing and communications reflect the school's commitment to providing consistent, high-quality family experience. Internal Collaboration & Project Management Serve as the central strategic lead for schoolwide marketing and communications initiatives, ensuring alignment across departments and organizational priorities. Lead projects from strategy through execution, oversee planning, content development, production, distribution, and measurement. Establish priorities, manage workflows, and distinguish urgent needs and long-term strategic initiatives to proactively and effectively make early intervention. Provide strategic consultation, guidance, and tools to departments, ensuring alignment with brand and communication standards while identifying needs and opportunities to strengthen the school's visibility, reputation, storytelling and community presence. Maintain project calendars, deadlines, content schedules, and vendor deliverables. Responsibilities for all positions Proctor state and local testing as assigned. Attend and/or assist with in-person requirements. Additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience required. Master's preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Marketing, Communication, Brand Management, and/or Digital Marketing. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience leading cross-functional teams and external partners. Experience in education and/or cyber environment is desired. Competencies Demonstrates strategic leadership and the ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans aligned with organizational goals. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Strong knowledge of brand development, digital marketing, social media, and content strategy. Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decision-making and measure effectiveness. Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external stakeholders. Skilled in public relations, media engagement, and crisis communications. Demonstrates strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills. Leads and develops team members while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Maintains a customer-focused approach to supporting enrollment, retention, and community engagement initiatives.
