Brief Role Description The Communications Manager to help tell the story of how autonomous technology is transforming mobility. This role will shape and deliver clear, credible communications across internal and external channels, supporting a fast-evolving technology that operates at the intersection of software, hardware, policy, and public trust. The Communications Manager will work closely with marketing, product, safety, policy, and leadership teams to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, compelling narratives for partners, media, and the broader public. strongly preferred. Possible Tasks within this Role Help shape and evolve the company's external narrative as the technology progresses from testing to scaled deployment. Partner with engineering, product, safety, and policy teams to communicate technical and regulatory topics clearly and accurately Serve as a day-to-day communications partner to senior leaders, helping translate complex topics into clear, credible external narratives. Support internal communications to keep teams informed and aligned during key milestones, launches, and organizational changes Create high-quality content including executive messaging, press releases, product updates, blog posts, FAQs, talking points, and website copy Support external communications efforts, including press materials, media coordination, and thought leadership Build, nurture, and leverage media relationships, with a focus on regional media, technology, automotive trades, and EV outlets Contribute to the development and maintenance of a master external and internal editorial calendar Support social media content creation (focus on LinkedIn), publishing, and channel management Help steward trust-forward messaging around autonomy, safety, and real-world operations Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and brand across all communications channels Identify and secure priority speakership opportunities for leadership Manage submissions, abstracts, bios, and coordination with event organizers Speech writing, bullets for remarks for external engagements Track and measure communications effectiveness and continuously improve messaging and delivery Support reactive and issues-based communications, including drafting holding statements, Q&A, and coordinating responses across internal stakeholders as needed. Partner with the marketing team to support key business partner marketing & communication plans, including events and speaking opportunities Qualification requirements
Years of Relevant Experience:
7-10 years of experience in communications, PR, or corporate marketing, preferably in tech, mobility, or a regulated industry
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or similar education
Skills:
Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams Strong project management skills and comfort juggling multiple priorities Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a calm, thoughtful approach to sensitive topics
Specialized Skills:
Required Desired Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, credible communications. Strong presentation development skills, including structuring clear storylines and executive-ready materials. Experience managing social media content and channels, with an emphasis on LinkedIn and executive or corporate thought leadership. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. Experience using modern internal communication tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Slack, Microsoft Teams). Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without direct authority. Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English German language skills a bonus Experience navigating and managing complex issues management or true crisis communications moments Experience with autonomous vehicles, automotive, robotics, AI, or advanced technology Familiarity with safety communications, regulatory engagement, or public affairs Experience supporting communications during pilots, launches, or market expansion Background working with global or multi-market teams
